Coris Whistle Candy

These tasted a lot like cola flavor. They are hard and if you put them in  your moth with it standing up hole facing out you can make one mean whistle. It was super loud and scared my cats. As the taste, I wasn't feeling it but maybe you want a candy for hiking and a bear or you may get lost start eating these and whistle might save you...

Konpeito Sugar Candy

These are pieces of hard sugar. There wasn't not much flavor on them and really were not that great. Looks like confetti which is konpeito. Well close enough. It is sugar that is multi-coated with coloring added but there isn't flavor. If you needed sugar in a hard weirdly formed shape go for it but this wasn't great.

Shuwa Shuwa Soda Candy

I didn't like them. They were a little intense on my tongue and it felt like it was going to tear it up. They are hard candies and with a soda filling inside. They were not me. I have noticed that Japanese Soda flaovrs are not that great. They do a lot of cola flavor's for their candy and I just never am feeling it. I would not buy these again myself but they are individually packaged. I think I gave them out during Halloween.

Full Gurt Candy

These are hard candies that had a filled inside with yogurt really. It was weird if you started to chew on the hard candy to break it up. I am not sure if I was a big fan of these and probably would never buy them. They came with our Japan Crate. Individually packaged inside with 2 flavors, grape and mango. Mango wasn't really that bad but I felt like the hard candy was rough on my tongue as it sat in my mouth. I'll pass.

Kopiko Coffee Candy

Kopiko has a few coffee like hard candies. We have had the cappuccino before and it was great. If you like hard candies and coffee flavor these are pretty good. We liked the cappuccino ones so much that we got these to try and enjoy. So far if you need a coffee flavor hard candy this is your fix. I would recommend it to most people. I actually let people try some while I am out on meets or friends, they always like them (assuming you are a coffee fan).

Orion Crayon Shinchan Color Ramune

These come in little hard candy balls. They are blue in color and what you do with box (sorry I didn't take a picture of this) is that you pull on the tab that you can see in the left picture like you are pulling Shincahn's pants and then an opening forms on the side of the box so you can get your candy. Like the design and the image but I am not a fan of the candy.

Nobel Super Cola Candy

This was not a great experience but probably because I don't like sour candies. This was interesting that it appeared that it was a cola flavored candy from the bag having the American looking comic on the front. No, this was sour right off the bat with a weird powder and aftertaste. It was just not for me and when I gave one to Ms. Noodle she didn't like it one bit. Threw the rest away...

Kopiko Cappuccino Candy

These are tasty. If you like Werthers then you will probably like these. These are some hard candies but they have a nice creamy taste about them and the cappuccino is great. Not to large just like a Werthers stated before. I have one once in a while keep some in the camera bag. I give them out to friends and no one has complained about it yet.
You should grab a bag!

UHA High Concentrated Hard Milk Candy

 photo IMG_4579_zpsnboiuogl.jpg

I have reviewed in the past the UHA Milk Coffee Candy, review here, and it is a lot like that candy.
This candy is hard unlike the other soft milk candies I have fried but that also means it doesn't melt really fast in your mouth and the flavor is gone. It lasts longer and if you enjoy hard candies this is right for you (given you like milk flavor).
It has the creamy milky flavor to it and it is quite enjoyable. I put a few of them in my camera bag to have while I am out. I recommend trying them out, I can't remember what I paid for them but don't do $5.

I found them individual and in bulk at Amazon if this makes it easier  to find for you.

Kasugai Lychee Hard Candy

Kasugai Hard Candy was just sitting on the shelf and caught my eye. I enjoy Lychee flavor and figure that I give it a try. Kasugai has really great gummies and their hard candy is pretty tasty too. If you enjoy lychee, then you should enjoy this. For four bucks not sure I would do it again but I will enjoy this entire bag. More great candy to ruin my teeth and straight from Japan!

UHA Milk Coffee Candy

 photo IMG_3951_zpsb0e12d19.jpg photo IMG_3953_zps6b4b1408.jpg

I grabbed this thinking that it was a soft candy at the local store but upon opening the bag and digging in it is a hard candy. That doesn't mean that it isn't good. It is a great hard candy. It has the creamy taste of coffee with milk and it last for awhile in your mouth. It is a bit sweet but boy is the creamy milk taste great. I did spend a little bit more money then I usually would so I am not sure if it is worth it to spend $5 for it again but I am glad to have given it a try. UHA stands for Unique Human Adventure and apparently top selling hard candy brand in Japan, sin't that something.

Ms. Noodle recommends this as well, she loves the creamy hard candy and wants more!!!

Don't believe me, check out a commercial way back in the day that Brittney Spears did for another one of their candies; Suki!

Sakuma Drops

 photo IMG_0905_zps87475028.jpg photo IMG_0909_zps70eb6027.jpg

If you have ever seen the movie "Grave of the Fireflies" from Studio Ghibli then perhaps you have seen the children in the film eat these drops. They are a hard candy with various flavors that are not that bad. They come in an tin can as seen and you just pour them out into your hand. I bought the can because I noticed the reference to the movie on one side. They made this can as a limited edition one.
They are flavored with real fruit juice and made in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The popularity of them  use to be a lot back in the day as it isn't as much anymore. they have been around since the Meiji Era! There are a lot more candies out there now in Japan that people prefer and I agree as it wouldn't be on the top of my list.

It has a nice look on the can and that probably what prompt my buy, I forgot what I got it for at my local Asian Market. I am not a huge hard candy fan but enjoy them once in awhile. This is definitely hard candy and they didn't have an overwhelming flavor which was nice. I enjoyed the real fruit juice flavoring. They are all shaped like like what their flavor is. Now that I tried them, I probably wont buy it again unless there is another collectible can. They are tasty but not amazing in which I would probably buy something else with my money for my sweet tooth.
Thanks for stopping by!

Asahi Mitsuya Cider Candy

 photo IMG_8329_zps62b37182.jpg
So Mitsuya Cider Hard Candy from Asahi is made from the ingredients being mixed and melted. Then exposing it to pressurized carbon dioxide gas and cooling it off. This makes the bubbles trapped and fizz in your mouth when you eat them.
